Head of Talent Management
Salary: Up to £100,000
Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid – 3 days office-based, easily accessible by mainline train from London)

Our client is on an exciting journey to redefine how they attract, develop, and grow their people — and they looking for an experienced Head of Talent Management to make it happen.This is a role for someone who thrives in transformation. We’re looking for a commercially minded, hands-on talent leader who blends strategic insight with operational excellence.
This pivotal role sits at the heart of the HR function, reporting directly to the Director of Talent. You will lead the design and delivery of the talent management strategy, ensuring the build of the leadership capability, succession strength, and culture needed for long-term success.
With the support of a healthy budget and a leadership team ready for change, you’ll bring rigour, creativity, and measurable impact to every aspect of our talent agenda.
What You’ll Deliver (Key Outcomes)
Succession Planning & Readiness
Achieve more than 80% succession coverage for critical roles within 12 months.
Within 2 years, secure more than 2 ready-now successors for executive roles and more than 1 ready-soon for key positions.
Leadership Development & Pipeline
Launch tiered leadership programmes with measurable outcomes.
More than 70% of participants progress to broader roles or promotions within 18 months.
Performance
Implement a consistent, data-driven talent review and calibration process with more than 90% manager participation.
Deliver high-quality, fair, and transparent performance discussions across the organisation.
Early Careers
Recruit and onboard 100 early careers professionals by 2028/29.
Design and deliver full rotational graduate and school-leaver programmes.
Talent Analytics & Business Impact
Build a quarterly talent dashboard with more than 95% data accuracy.
Demonstrate measurable business impact, including a more than 20% reduction in time to fill critical roles.

Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen – You will connect people strategy to business outcomes and can speak the language of the boardroom.
Influence & Credibility – You will secure buy-in from senior stakeholders and inspire the wider HR community.
Data-Driven Decision Making – You will use evidence to prove impact and guide continuous improvement.
Execution & Delivery – You will design for adoption and deliver what you promise.
Change Leadership – You will drive cultural and behavioural shifts that help leaders truly lead and managers fully manage.
