Job Title: Mathematics Teacher
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Job Summary:
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our teaching team in Bury, Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Mathematics to GCSE level students, with a familiarity with the AQA examination board being preferable, though not essential. We encourage applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are beginning their teaching journey and are eager to develop their professional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons to students from diverse backgrounds.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Prepare lesson plans in line with the National Curriculum and adapt them to the requirements of the GCSE syllabus.
- Monitor, assess, and support student progress, providing feedback that fosters improvement.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to engage with the subject matter and promotes a passion for Mathematics.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of the Mathematics curriculum within the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, coordinate, and execute departmental goals and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding pupil progress and potential concerns.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, assessments, and grades.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with best practices in teaching and education.
- Take on additional duties as required, such as leading extracurricular activities or providing support to students during examinations.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently undergoing teacher training.
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics to GCSE level students.
- Knowledge of the AQA examination board is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to continuing professional development.
