Description

Primary School Teacher – Small Class Size – Mitcham – September Start
Full time | Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm, Friday 8.30am start (includes planning time)

We are working with a dedicated SEND primary school in Mitcham that is looking to appoint a Primary Teacher for a September start. This is a specialist setting that supports pupils with autism and associated needs including non verbal communication and sensory processing differences.

SEND experience is beneficial but not essential. The school welcomes strong mainstream primary teachers who are confident managing small groups and committed to inclusive education.

The Role
You will be teaching a small class of 5 to 8 pupils with the support of 2 to 3 experienced teaching assistants.
There are two classes to consider:

One Year 3 group

A mixed class of Year 3 and Years 4 to 6, all working at a lower key stage level

The curriculum is highly personalised and the school works within both KS1 and KS2 frameworks, adjusted to meet each pupil’s individual needs.

Schedule
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm
Friday 8.30am start with planning time
Weekly teacher meeting currently on Mondays (subject to change)

What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong classroom management and ability to differentiate learning
Experience teaching at primary level
Interest or experience in SEND, especially ASD and sensory needs, is a plus
Adaptable, nurturing and team-oriented approach

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-resourced and supportive team making a real difference in children’s lives. Whether you are an experienced SEND teacher or a primary teacher looking to transition into a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
