Description
Location: Thornbury, South Gloucestershire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Permanent: Following an initial 16-week settling-in period
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to young people's lives?
We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker in School to join a specialist education setting in Thornbury, supporting primary aged pupils with autism and learning disabilities.
This is a unique learning environment supporting children with complex additional needs. The school has modern, spacious facilities including sensory areas, a hydrotherapy pool, large trampolines, well-equipped play spaces and large classrooms.
The setting was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2024, with Outstanding judgements for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision. Ofsted highlighted the exceptionally strong and trusting relationships between staff and pupils, alongside a personalised curriculum and a strong focus on communication.
What we are looking for
We are more interested in who you are than what is written on your CV.
You could be a graduate, Teaching Assistant, youth worker, Sports Coach, support worker or simply someone from the local Thornbury area who wants meaningful work supporting vulnerable young people.
You will need to be:
• Kind, patient and approachable
• Calm and positive
• Reliable and committed
• Comfortable working as part of a supportive team
• Motivated to help children communicate, learn and become more independent
Previous experience working with autism or SEND is helpful, but your personality, values and motivation matter most.
If you want a role where every day brings the chance to help a child learn, grow and feel included, we would love to hear from you.
Apply today to be considered for this role.
