Job Title: Class Teacher (KS1) – Specialist in Managing Challenging Behaviour

Location: Bury, Lancashire

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Class Teacher to join our vibrant primary school located in the heart of Bury. Our school is committed to delivering outstanding education and support to young learners, and we are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong background and skill set in managing challenging behaviour effectively. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are ready to start making a significant impact in their teaching career.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils, with a particular focus on managing and improving challenging behaviour
- Develop and implement effective strategies for promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback that encourages and motivates learners
- Foster a love for learning by creating a dynamic and inspiring classroom atmosphere
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, the SENCO, and support staff to plan cohesive educational experiences
- Communicate effectively with parents or carers concerning their child’s development and any behavioural concerns
- Continuously update professional practice through CPD and reflection, with a focus on behaviour management
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in accordance with school policies and safeguarding regulations

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- A firm understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum and excellent curriculum delivery skills
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and adopt a flexible approach to behaviour strategies
- A commitment to inclusion and equality, making education accessible to all students
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate successfully with other staff and build positive relationships with pupils and parents
- ECTs must be committed to personal and professional development, especially regarding behaviour management
- DBS checked, or willing to undergo a DBS check
